Today we’d like to introduce you to our head chef, Martin Jonáš, whose journey to haute cuisine proves that passion and determination can work wonders.
Martin's story is fascinating. He never studied culinary arts or any related field. He began his career in a completely different field—construction. It was there, in the midst of hard work, that he came to realize that the “art of gastronomy” appealed to him far more than bricks and concrete.
He decided to make a radical change, began teaching himself to cook, and worked hard to improve. This risk paid off, and thanks to his talent and diligence, he worked his way up to a prestigious position at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
After years in Prague, however, he began to wonder where to go next. He wanted to bring his vision of high-quality cuisine to a wider audience and show that top-notch food isn’t limited to the capital. That’s why he accepted the offer to become the head chef at Villa Patriot in Mariánské Lázně.
His ambition is now clear: to leave a lasting mark on the culinary scene of the Karlovy Vary Region through his artistry and dedication, and to take our cuisine to the next level.
